Call for Fechin Studio Exhibition Proposals
This call for Fechin Studio exhibition proposals is open to artists of all disciplines living in New Mexico.
An artist or curator may submit proposals. This can be the artist proposing a solo exhibition, a representative proposing an exhibition as part of a group, or an independent curator proposing an exhibition on behalf of an artist or group of artists. For group exhibitions, please indicate the group mission, vision, or aesthetic connections between group members.
We welcome all proposals and make selections based on curatorial standards of artistic quality, originality, and relevance to the museum's mission. We do not discriminate based on race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, height, weight, physical or mental ability, veteran status, military obligations, or marital status.
Given that the Fechin Studio is where Nicolai Fechin created some of his best work, we are interested in unique proposals inspired by his work and legacy, though this is not a requirement and should not be a forced connection. The most successful proposals convey original ideas that go beyond simply exhibiting works of art.
Proposals should be made in consideration of the Fechin Studio space. Therefore, visiting before applying is strongly encouraged.
Successful exhibition proposals will include the following:
