Gifts to the Annual Fund are critical to the health and vitality of the museum as we strive to preserve Nicolai Fechin’s important legacy for current and future generations to enjoy. Annual Fund donations are 100% tax-deductible and are used to help pay for the museum's basic needs, ranging from preserving Nicolai Fechin's home studio and beautiful handcarved furniture to to fixing surprise plumbing leaks and maintaining the beautiful gardens.
Whatever amount you choose to give, your contribution will help care for Nicolai Fechin's historic House and Studio, the beautiful gardens, permanent collections (which includes work by Nicolai Fechin, the Taos Society of Artists, Taos Moderns, and more!), as well as exhibitions and programs for you and the community to enjoy.

➡ Contribute to the Richard C. Bumstead Facilities Fund in Memory of Vivienne C. Bumstead
Richard C. Bumstead, who lived next door to the Fechin House as a child, recently set up a facilities fund in memory of his mother, Vivienne C. Bumstead. He thoughtfully created this fund - and will further contribute to it through a transformational bequest - to create an endowment for improvements and enhancements to the Museum's structures and gardens. Richard said, "I felt that this is often an overlooked area of giving to art museums, but without a suitable environment, most museums can't function. And the legacy that Nicolai left with the house and studio is a national treasure that needs to be maintained in perpetuity."

Taos Art Museum welcomes gifts of museum-quality art consistent with the focus of its collections and mission. If you are interested in donating art, please email us a photograph with as much information as possible, including the artist's name, date of creation, title, medium, size, and provenance. As much as we would love to accept all donations, our space is limited, and not all gifts fit within our scope and mission.
For legal and ethical reasons, we are unable to provide appraisal services. Additionally, to avoid any conflicts of interest, the Museum cannot provide referrals for specific appraisers. However, the American Society of Appraisers can help you locate an ASA-accredited appraiser, and the International Society of Appraisers provides a free appraiser referral service.
