'I live as a lay resident of the Monastery of Christ in the Desert, where my service to the community includes instruction of the monks in monastic crafts, I taught myself and the brothers to hand -sew leather. I have never changed from this truly intimate, slow and meticulous process. A hand punched, hand sewn leather piece has a unique look not found in machine sewn items.'
