Tupper’s crosses combine the ancient Japanese ‘Raku’ method and modern mosaic. It was at her father’s side, that Tupper learned the metal montage technique invented by her parents (Bill and Sammy Heaton) in Taos. This ‘metal mosaic’ technique while complicated, is also what makes her work so unique and beautiful. Her metal and glass works of art draw inspiration from her love of the Taos landscape and her deep spirituality.
