Born to Mexican parents and now living in Taos, Olivia ‘Live’ Johnson rejoices in her
culturally rich heritage. The colorful festivities of church feast days, pageants, fiestas and local carnivals she experienced as a youngster while visiting Mexico continue to inspire her work today. Live uses a rich, vivid color palette to depict day to day scenes of village life and the surrounding landscape, always trying to capture the sheer joy of life as it is meant to be lived.
