"Snowbridges - Blacktail Creek" by Linda Tippetts
Snowbridges - Blacktail Creek, Linda Tippetts, 12" x 16," Oil on linen, framed.
'"En Plein Air" is the most honest approach to painting. It's pure dialogue between the artist and subject. The journey continues beyond a 30+ year background in plein air painting. The present challenge is incorporating those years of on-location study with studio refinement. How do I retain the excitement of spontaneous plein air work with more contemplative execution? Closing that gap of experience while reaching for new heights sums up the never-ending goal of "getting better". The elements of a good painting include concept, drawing. color/value/temperature orchestration, mood and honesty. This season of my journey is a balancing act between 'what I know' and 'retaining the mystery.'" - Linda Tippetts
