"Morning at the Shed" by Gay Faulkenberry
Morning at the Shed, Gay Faulkenberry, Oil on linen panel, 8" x 10," framed.
Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma and raised throughout the West, Gay Faulkenberry grew-up in an artistic family and was encouraged at an early age to pursue her art. She studied art at both Southwestern State and Oklahoma State Universities, in Oklahoma, but it wasn’t until a trip to Taos, New Mexico in 1978 that Gay took a more serious direction to pursuing a fine art career. Her in-depth training with noted Russian-born artist Sergei Bongart gave Gay a solid foundation in representational painting.
Painting professionally for the past thirty two years, her subject matter is well rounded and includes Landscapes, Still Life, Floral, and Interiors. Her work is found in many private and corporation collections and featured in numerous art publications. From the school of impressionism/realism, Gay has attracted a growing audience of collectors as well as receiving numerous awards of excellence.
