Porcelain Silverfish Plate
This one-of-a-kind plate features an original carved and painted fish design, with silver lustre detail. This piece sparkles beautifully in a brightly lit room and is the perfect, folksy detail for a kitchen, dining room, bedroom, or powder room.
This plate started as a porcelain slab, the edges were then created by hand-pinching the white clay upward. Black underglaze was then painted onto the piece. The original fish design was then tediously hand-carved in the firm clay. The plate was fired, glazed, then fired again. Lastly, silver lustre was carefully applied and the piece was fired a third time.
Approximately 6 inches in diameter, this plate is intended to be a decorative accent. However, it is food safe.
