Chartreuse and White Cup by Rachel A. Donner
This handmade ceramic cup by Taos native Rachel A. Donner features a modern color-block design of chartreuse and white rectangles. Cobalt blue and red shapes accent the motif. Approximately three inches tall by three inches in diameter, this cup is lightweight and comfortable in the hand.
Donner says of her process, "Creating something out of clay is like healing a wound. My work is dictated by process and the sentimental experience of interacting with precious items on a daily basis." She has completed a number of artist residencies at notable institutions including Red Lodge Clay Center (MT) and Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts (ME).
Donner is the great-granddaughter of Nicholai Fechin.
