Modern Color-Block Tumbler
This handmade ceramic tumbler by Taos native Rachel A. Donner features a modern color-block design of black, chartreuse, and baby blue rectangles. This pleasing design is back-dropped by a rich speckled buff clay body. Four inches tall by three inches in diameter, this tumbler is a pleasing weight and comfortable in the hand.
Donner says of her process, "Creating something out of clay is like healing a wound. My work is dictated by process and the sentimental experience of interacting with precious items on a daily basis." She has completed a number of artist residencies at notable institutions including Red Lodge Clay Center (MT) and Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts (ME).
Donner is the great-granddaughter of Nicholai Fechin.
