Taos Treasures: the Plein Air Creative Process
Have you ever wanted to peek inside the mind of an artist at the moment they find their Muse? The beauty of New Mexico has a long history of luring the outdoor painter, demanding to be captured in some form of permanence. In fact, some of the best painters in the world come to Taos to do just that!
Three Master Signature members of Plein Air Painters of New Mexico (PAPNM), Clive Tyler, Paul Murray and Peggy Immel, will share some of their outdoor painting processes, answering questions such as: What attracts them to a scene? How do they evaluate the subject and form a plan for the painting? How do they then implement that plan in an environment with ever-changing light? What are the challenges of painting outdoors? What are some of their favorite painting stories? This discussion will be moderated by John Meister, immediate past president of PAPNM.
